It provides shade, glare reduction, insect protection, ventilation, daytime privacy, and rain reduction while maintaining excellent outward visibility. Reinforced with high-tensile Kevlar®, it is engineered and certified to remain deployed during Category 5 hurricane-force wind conditions.
Unlike conventional solar screens that must be retracted during severe weather, the Defender® Hurricane Series is designed to stay in place, helping protect outdoor living areas from wind-driven rain and airborne debris while shielding furniture and finishes behind the screen.

When clear views and protection from cooler weather are the priority, the premium clear vinyl system transforms the space into a comfortable outdoor room.
The clear vinyl panels reduce wind and rain while helping retain warmth from patio heaters or conditioned air, making patios, restaurants, and outdoor gathering spaces more comfortable during cooler months.
Because the vinyl system is designed for everyday weather conditions, it should be retracted when wind gusts approach 75 mph and in cooler climates, before gusts approach 50MPH.

When neither screen is needed, both systems retract completely into their housings, preserving the home's architecture, unobstructed views, and the open-air experience.
